Dr. Lee is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Before joining the Department of Biomedical Engineering at UC, Dr. Lee was a chemist at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY. His current research interests focus on the development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) techniques. He is currently the Associate Director of the Center for Imaging Research.

Research Interests

Development of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopy (MRS) methodologies and the utilization of these methodologies for studying metabolism, bioenergetics and function of the brain and other organs noninvasively.

Current Research Projects

4 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Spectroscopic (MRS) Studies of Human Subjects

The aim of this study is to develop new magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and spectroscopic (MRS) radiofrequency (RF), field gradient pulse sequences, as well as functional MRI (fMRI) stimulus paradigms. These pulse sequences promise higher spatiotemporal resolution, better contrast, new pathophysiological specificity, or other advantages over pre-existing pulse sequences, leading to better image quality and increased scientific information from images.
